Terminologies on Populism

Judicial Populism

Judicial populism: Courts are usually declared to be victims of populism when both the court administration and the judicial and constitutional interpretation are influenced by politicians who work against the independence of the judiciary. However, judicial populism is also observed as part of the populist Zeitgeist. That means that courts might change their own decisions in order to show empathy toward the public or the populist political branch.
