How does the media cover policies stemming from populist regimes?

The media might play a key role in influencing populist attitudes, a topic currently being studied by the DEMOS project. In your opinion, how do the media cover politics and public policy in populist regimes? If you consider your country to be ruled by a populist leader and you cover public administration, how do you approach newsgathering and investigation and how do you frame your story?
